At Thomas’s Kensington, we believe that education extends beyond the school gates. We want our pupils to understand that their talents carry responsibility, and that they have the ability to make a positive difference to others.
Our work in the community is shaped by a strong sense of purpose and partnership. Through the Thomas’s Foundation, we are committed to widening access to opportunity and supporting children beyond our own school. This begins with meaningful community partnerships and extends through to bursary provision at Thomas’s College.
We are proud of our long-standing relationships with local schools, charities and community organisations. Recent partnerships have included supporting youth provision at the Henry Dickens Community Centre, contributing to arts and music programmes with Nucleo, and working with organisations such as St Mary’s and Clement James to provide educational workshops, school trips and safe after-school spaces. These initiatives help ensure that more children can access enriching, high-quality experiences beyond the classroom in our local area.
Pupils at Thomas’s Kensington play an active role in this work. Each year, the school community comes together to support a chosen charity, often linked to the work of the Thomas’s Foundation. Our pupils are encouraged to take ownership of fundraising events, pupil-led initiatives and community activities, such as readathons, enterprise initiatives and fundraising days, developing a strong sense of service, generosity and social responsibility.
These experiences are an important part of a Thomas’s Kensington education. They help pupils to look beyond themselves, to engage with the world around them, and to recognise that even small actions can have a meaningful impact.

The Parent Teacher Association
A strong sense of community lies at the heart of Thomas’s Kensington. Our school is built on a genuine partnership between pupils, staff and families, underpinned by shared values and a collective commitment to the wellbeing and success of every child.
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) plays an important role in nurturing this partnership. Through a range of social, charitable and community-focused activities, the PTA helps to bring families together and strengthen the connections that make our school such a welcoming and supportive environment.
Each year, Class Representatives are appointed to support communication within year groups and to help foster a strong sense of community amongst parents. They work closely with the PTA committee and the school to organise events, support charitable initiatives and contribute to the wider life of the school.
A varied programme of events takes place throughout the year, from informal gatherings and year group socials to larger whole-school occasions. These moments are an important part of school life, providing opportunities for families to connect, celebrate and contribute to the community. From assisting at the Christmas Market, participating in our annual quiz night, to being a member of a parent football team, there are many ways that new parents can get involved in school life.
Alongside this, the PTA supports a range of charitable and community initiatives linked to our Charity of the Year, reflecting our shared commitment to service and making a positive difference beyond the school gates.
We are enormously grateful to all those who contribute their time and energy to the PTA. Their commitment plays a significant role in strengthening the community and enriching the experience of every family at Thomas’s Kensington.
